Three new things

Three new things that I'm enjoying right now:

  • The babysitter's bowl.
I try to get a babysitter for a few hours once a week for a much-needed break and for Karen and I to have some time alone together. We've been lucky enough to find a real gem of a sitter (let's call her "D"). D loves being outside as much as Kylie does. They take adventure walks together. And on their walks, they find all manner of flora and fauna. D collects these items and places them in one of Kylie's plastic bowls. So when I get home, I pick up Kylie and cover her with kisses and then I let D show me the day's bowl. She's always so proud of them. Here's the latest one:

    Isn't that lovely?

  • Table Toppers.
I just found these! It's a disposable placemat that you can use for your child at restaurants.

This way I can feed Kylie right on the table without worrying about germs or leaving a sticky mess.

  • Digital Scrapbook Glitter
Well, the kid in me is loving this! I had to restrain myself from not covering my latest scrapbook page with it.

This is from our April TN trip.
    You can see the close-up
    here
along with the left and right pages.

    I love the bowl!

BTW - what program do you use for your digital scrapbooking??

    Hi Holly,
    Thanks for your comment.

I use Adobe Photoshop to create my digital scrapbook pages. Photoshop Elements also works well. I believe you can download a free trial of either software.

If you are interested, you can check out this printed tutorial on how to create a scrapbook page:

Or you can take this class the next time it is offered (this is how I learned).

I love the bowl idea - what a great way to reconnect!

Disposable placemats are the bomb. My second favorite is this one: http://www.kiddopotamus.com/p_tiny.php

The downside is that it's not disposable so you have to wash it when you get home (ours sat in the car overnight - ick) But, it has plus a crumb catcher which saves both the floors and much frustration (when a precious morsel is dropped)

It's sounds like you have found another great sitter. I may have to "borrow" her sometime (we lost ours to Grad School).

I used to love the disposable mats when Ethan was little...they were great at restaurants. Now we use the Kiddopotamus mats for every meal at home since Ethan sits in a booster seat at the table. It really helps contain the mess.
