School and park

There's the kiddo being walked into school.

We've had a good week of school. Monday was a bit hard with lots of tears at home and in the car on the way to school. But when I picked her up, she was beaming. On Wednesday, she woke up and announced, "I'm ready to go to school!" And this morning, she was asking excitedly, "Is it time to go yet?" She is always smiling and happy when I pick her up.

I get to observe some of her class on Tuesday (and make a decision about Fall classes that day too). Kylie still isn't talking much about school. And thank you for your comments letting me know this is typical; I'm trying to restrain myself from asking too much from her. She has mentioned a boy named Ian and a boy named Wesley. And she talked about a book with two seahorses. Every day she talks about how much she loves the tire swing.

Although we emphasize manners in our home, I've seen Kylie's manners improve since she started school. Lots more "please" and "thank you". And now she says, "Excuse me" when she interrupts. And she's started to annunciate some of her words like her teacher does. For example, she said, "I would like some J-J-Juice please." And "This is H-H-Heart-shaped." This is awesome because I can follow up with a question like, "And what letter does Juice start with?"

Yesterday after school we went to the park near our house. It has this large play structure.

And this smaller one. It has bucket swings

and regular swings.

It has lots of very tall trees which provide great shade.

It also has a baseball diamonds, basketball courts, soccer fields, and s skateboarding area.

But my favorite part is this awesome manatee.

Love, love, love the manatee.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Glad it's going well. I always get bits and pieces and leave it at that.

Love that park--it's beautiful where you are. We are possibly driving down to Disney in March and I hope maybe we can meet up if that's the case. I'd have to figure out where Jacksonville is located in relation to Orlando... :P

Wow, sounds like preschool is turning into a positive experience. I love the photo of her walking away--clever. Your whole life seems so dreamy now that the beach is at your doorstep. Like a permanent vacation!
