Little People Madness

Go ahead and judge me all you want. I probably deserve it.

But these little people animals are just too dang cute! So we went a little crazy on them.

Haven't you gone hog-wild over some toys?

The good news is that Kylie adores them and plays with them for hours.

(this week).

And if she gets sick of them, well.... I'll sell them on craigslist or give them away to friends.

My daughter *LOVES* little people. I still have mine from when I was a child. I must confess I went a bit nuts buying them when she first started developing an interest. She watched a free video that came with one of the sets and 30 minutes of the DVD led to hours and hours of imaginative play. It also led me to buy a few of the harder-to-find characters on ebay. Aiiyiiyii

I doubt Kylie will get sick of them any time soon. We rotate my daughters toys but she cries when I put her little people away.

We love Little People and so does Riley. We have Noah's Ark too. And the dollhouse, bus, playground, garage... So we can't really judge. ;)

Riley has the same farm house and LOVES IT! She also has the block set and loves it as well. Hooray for Little People!

We found that the animals were a good way to teach animal recognition and sounds. I think it's too cool that you are forming such a great collection for Kylie.

And, it looks like you have some more animals to buy too...fun, fun! I don't see any camels, peacocks, and a few others.

Jack (at five) has quite a collection, too. I'd suggest that if Kylie loses inetrest, that you squirrel them away in the back of a closet somewhere and bring them out again in a few months. They're excellent for a child's imagination -- especially if the sounds "break". ;)

I have to tell you that my girls (now ages 26 and 30) had a pillow case sized bag (I made it with their initials on it) FULL of what we called the "little people". They weren't these 'toddler' sized little people that they make now. They were Fisher Price and we had the "school" the "camping" and the "airplane" sets. Every child that comes to our house enjoys dragging out the "bag" and playing with the people. They were probably one of the best investments/gifts they got. I suspect, that I will give them to my grandchildren one day. So, never fret over the little people.

How ironic! I just bought my 15 month old the Little People barn at a yard sale today. He loves it! I still remember how much I loved The Little People growing up... especially the house. I think they are creative and wonderful toys.
Your daughter is adorable!!!

Who could blame you for going hog wild. Those are wonderful toys. I can't wait til Maddie is old enough for those little toys.
