Yesterday we played with Potato Head parts. Kylie had fun putting different parts on herself and on me.
And another play favorite is dropping different things on Kylie. She calls it "Kylie rain". We rain down scarves and stuffed animals and bean bags. It makes her laugh and laugh.
Have you tried the Tag Junior system? Do you like it?
Kylie has been fixated on The Little Mermaid-the movie, the music and the Leap Frog Mermaid book. I thought I would get her another Leap Frog Leap Pad book in an effort to save my sanity and keep her from playing the same pages over and over. Imagine my surprise when I find out that Leap Frog has discontinued the Leap Pad book type that we have. Just my luck. So I decided to get the new Tag Junior system. Kylie holds the wireless device (she calls it her book snowman) on the board book pages. Words, poems, and music plays when she touches the various pictures. I don't think she likes it as well as the Leap Pad but she does like playing with it.
It doesn't replace all the books we read throughout the day. And it links reading with enjoyment which works for me.
Have a great day everyone!

Did you make those bean bags that are on Kylie in the picture? That is a wonderful idea. Does she love to play with them? My daughter is 13 months and Im thinking she would love to play with those if I can make them. Please do tell.
Hi Michelle,
I didn't make the bean bags. I bought them from a store when we lived in Oregon. Here's a link:

I bet they would be easy to sew though and I bet you could use rice or something similar as filler.
I got these when Kylie was about a year old and we have done so many things with them. We've practiced dropping them into a bowl and later tossing them in. I made a game where I put colored construction paper squares-the same colors as the beanbags- on the floor and then had Kylie put the matching beanbag on the paper. It was great for color recognition and and easy way for her to feel successful about her colors.
And now we're making "Kylie rain" with them.
Thanks for your comment and good luck with your little one!
Cute pics and great activities, as always.
It's so funny... I just posted a picture of Adam on my blog yesterday... holding Mr. Potato Head glasses! =)
Can't wait to meet you all next week!
riley likes her tag jr system but doesn't play with it that often
We bought those same beanbags from Learning Palace when Teo was around a year old. We've done lots of activities with them too. One of them did end up coming apart at the seam, though, which I wasn't happy about because the little pellets inside look like candy.
