I am blessed with a baby who wakes up from naptime in the sweetest and oh-so-cuddly mood. I love how her hair is all mushed around and the sleep wrinkles on her face and how warm she is. I usually sweep her up and shower her with kisses but today I thought I would snap a few pictures.
Here she is just standing up. And I've opened just one window shade in her room.
big yawn
Flash me a melt-your-heart smile.
Oh look! Mommy opened up more window shades. Now I can see outside.
Okay, enough of this. Let's get movin'!
Don't you just love those first few minutes when they wake up?

Very, very cute! I love how she casually leans against the crib with her arms on the railing. You have a darling daughter.
Your pictures always capture the light so well. You are very talented.

I wonder, if you had to pick your favourite pictures, how you could possible choose from all of them? You take great photos of a gorgeous subject. I honestly think I'd be overwhelmed if I had to put together my favourite 20 or something. lol
Hi there Maven,
You are right. It would be really hard to pick my favorites. People wonder why I don't have more pictures of Kylie framed in my home. I tell them that my favorites of her change from week to week. Plus my picture taking always seems to tell some sort of story (even if it's a nonsensical one I've made up). That's why I scrapbook so much-- to capture the pictures AND the stories.
Thanks for your comments. They mean the world to me.
Your pictures, stories and, of course, your daughter are beautiful!
I have a 17 month old daughter and thousands of pictures, but only a handful of nice looking shots.... our daughter always makes the picture beautiful, but I would love to capture the light the way you do... May I ask what camera you use?
Thank you!

Hi Melanie from Canada,
Thank you for your comment.
I use a Nikon D50 with a Quantaray 1:2.8D 50mm Macro lens. The macro lens is for close-up shots but I prefer to shoot close up so it is the perfect lens for me.
Many of my photos are tweaked in Photoshop. I've found Scott Kelby's book on Photoshop to be the most informative.
Hope this helps. If you have other questions, let me know.
And thanks for reading!
I love your pictures. I just got a Nikon D40 from my wife....and I love it. I have to work on a lot of things but so far, I have been able to take some great shots. I love looking at your pictures. I hope when we have Addison, my pictures will be 1/2 as good as yours. Thanks for sharing with all of us.
