Project Monday 11/19

This is one of those mornings where I feel like I could sleep all day. It was a rainy weekend here in Portland and I was pretty lazy. All I did was take care of the baby and play with digital scrapbooking. Have you ever noticed that when you are lazy for more than one day, that you end of feeling even more tired instead of rested?

I did manage to visit a friend of mine who had a baby the first week of November. I took her a couple of days worth of home-cooked food and got to spend time with her and her baby boy. I was a bit worried that seeing and holding a newborn would make me want to have another baby. But all I felt was a great empathy for this mom who will be taking care of this new baby along with taking care of her husband and 4 year old. My gosh, those first three months with a newborn are so dang hard. I haven't forgotten at all how wonderful but incredibly hard those first months are. So I'm still quite happy with the decision to have one child.

I should get off my duff and vacuum the house but instead I'm blogging and trying to catch up on reading some blogs. Oh, and drinking coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.

Here are a few scrapbook pages. I'm finally caught up on Kylie's monthly milestones.

6 months- left page

6 months - right page

7 months- left page

7 months- right page

Just for fun--all dressed up.

I'm also knitting on a new sweater. It's the Retrograde sweater from the 2006 Winter Interweave Magazine issue. And I'm knitting a baby hat made from the leftover yarn from Kylie's latest sweater. I should finish it in a couple of days.

I've noticed that I'm not getting many comments lately here on the blog. If you have time, stop by and say hello.

Have a great Monday everyone!

I'm sorry I haven't commented lately! I am always so jealous of your beautiful scrapbooking of Kylie. It's been a real inspiration to me to get started with my daughter. You have such a lovely family :)

I think we're all feeling a little lazy...But yesterday I decided to get off my butt for a little while, so I did bake a pumpkin cranberry bread. I made the regular bread for 2/3 of the recipe and added dark chocolate chips for the remaining loaf. It is SOOOO good (especially the one with the chocolate). I can post the recipe if anyone is interested in making a pretty fast and tasty bread - would be good to get our Thanksgiving appetites in gear. Also makes a lovely gift, all wrapped up in a tea towel or butcher paper. It's finally fall down here in NC - leaves changing and falling, and it's grey, although tomorrow is supposed to be in the mid-70s. I'm so not used to this southern seasons thing.

What are you doing for Thanksgiving? Does anyone here use a crockpot? I need a new recipe to try. Sorry to turn this into a food comment. I think I'm nesting now that it's fall.

Your one baby will have all the love and attention you can give her. Plus there are always people with babies looking for a night away ;-) Your scrapbooking is gorgeous... I remember making "collages" after all of my early trips and events. What other crafty things are you doing lately?

Hi! I don't comment often, but I have a little boy (born 4/21/07) and it's fun to follow along how other people with babies the same age are doing.

Hello! and I'm sorry I haven't commented .. college is devouring my life. I still stop by and read and enjoy your pictures! I really like your scrapbooking stuff. I use the paper for my paintings, sometimes.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE your blog. Because I don't know you, I would feel a bit creepy commenting everyday but rest assured that this blog is my treat at the end of a tired day teaching!!! That new sweater looks really interesting. I have always wanted to knit but I have never found a place to start. Your local store sounds so friendly and helpful. I really have enjoyed watching your projects become more and more complex. Way to go...and Kylie is as cute as ever!

I totally get that thing where lazing around breeds more lazing around. Luckily, M never lets me have too much downtime :) Glad to hear you're all doing well!

I love that you call us out when we don't comment. I need to do that more often with my blog. :-)

I know exactly what you mean about being more tired when lazy. I'm experiencing that this week. I'm on a break from teaching for the holiday, and I can't seem to get enough sleep even though I'm just sitting around, crocheting, eating, watching movies. It's sad, really!

The new scrapbook pages look fabulous! I'm just loving them.
