Hard

Last night Kylie didn't go to sleep until after 4:00am. She was awake from 8:00pm until 4:00am. YIKES.

She's not sick-no fever- just incredibly, incredibly restless and fussy. It had to be one of THE WORST NIGHTS for both of us.

Karen is out of town, in Texas, teaching for her job. The only thing that was different and the only thing I can figure is that Kylie missed her Momma. I called Karen at around 3:00 and she helped soothe me (I was really frazzled at that point!) so that I could soothe the baby. I don't know who had it worse, me, Kylie or Karen (who felt so helpless so many miles away from her baby).

To make matters worse, Kylie is now consistently pooping to the far left. So the poop goes up the diaper or leaks through and thoroughly soils whatever outfit she's wearing. So there's been lots of outfit changes and then the scrubbing of the outfit with the bleach pen.

So do me a favor and send some loving vibes to Kylie. It's not easy being a baby. You can send some hugs to me and Karen too.

Sounds like it was an awful night :( I'm so sorry for all of you! I hope today is going better and that you all get more sleep tonight. If you need a break for an hour or two while Karen's out of town, email us. Sacha's home from school for the summer and we'd be happy to lend a hand if it would help.

Sending you love and hugs. Remember I am literally just a few steps away...Call me ANYTIME! Things will get better, I promise. If they didn't, all of new mommy heads would just go and explode and to date, I have yet to see an exploded head as I drive by. :) Yes, I am twisted, but then again, I have to be...I have a toddler. :)

Love you,
Heather

One of my daughters would do the same thing when she was a baby and her daddy left for work. He drove long haul for a year and in all that time, every single time he left, we'd have two nights in a row just like that. It does get better but it takes awhile. You all are doing a great job.

Wendy, our daughter was exactly like that when she was teething,, no sleep.. and pooping like there was no tomorrow. could that be a culprit?

Sending the sandman to your house! I hope you both get some rest soon.

As for the pooping ... maybe she needs to be bumped up in diaper size? My kids always had leaks when they diapers got too small, even though they may not appear to be *too* small.

Nights like that get the best of you. It's so hard being that frazzled and feeling helpless. That's the hardest part of being a mom so far. Hang in there. And, as everyone tells us, sleep when she sleeps!!
