Visit Pictures

Karen's parents are leaving Portland tomorrow morning. Look at this photogenic family:

Kylie liked sitting on her Papaw's lap.

And trying to go after and eat his shoes.

Nanny took Kylie to Gymboree.

And helped her crawl up and down the stairs.

And reminded her to use her baby sign language--"All done!"

It was wonderful to leave Kylie with her grandparents while Karen and I had some time alone. It was a lovely visit and we hope they have a safe trip home!

That is a beautiful family! B's mom wants to be called Nanny too. I had never heard of that before, but, I guess others do that too. =)
Since we have no babies yet, our dogs know the sign for all done. It's cute how they will walk away when we do it.

My grandma was Nanny too!!! So cute. Glad you had a nice time with them, and on your own -- so important to reconnect. Cute family :-)

What a good looking bunch! I have never heard the name "Papaw" before. Is that a name that is unique to your family or is is a southern thing? How do you pronounce it? Looks as though you had a great visit.

Hi Louise!

I guess it's a Southern thing!

It's pronounced "Pap" which rhymes with sap (like from a tree) and Paw as in an animal's "hand". But the two middle p's get run together so it sounds like "pa-paw or if you are really Southern- papaaaawwww.
