One Word

Over the years, I've gone back and forth on making New Years Resolutions. Some years, the making of that list has really inspired me and other years not so much.

This year I'm tickled to be inspired by Ali Edwards' idea of "One Little Word".

You can read about it here and here.

To paraphrase a part of her article:
"A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be a catalyst for enriching your life".

As soon as I read that, I knew that my New Years Resolution would be to hold one word close to my heart. And my word is

I want to create healthy meals for my family.
I want to create learning opportunities for Kylie.
I want to create playful days and funny days; loving days and peaceful days.
I want to create beautiful photos and scrapbook pages.
I could go on and on but you get the point.

Create.

Should be fun!

Happy New Year Everyone!

I am very inspired by your scrapbook pages! I would like to try...are you creating them as web pages and then printing them? If so, what site do you use? Thanks!

What a neat idea! Much better than a list of unrelated items that set you up to fail when you can't get to even half of them. Thanks for sharing. And Happy New Year!

What a great idea! And "create" is such an inspiring word. I think it will be more fulfilling to dedicate yourself to a concept like that!

I really like this idea--it doesn't box a person in like a resolution does, and it inspires change throughout nearly every aspect of one's life. I'm definitely doing this too.

Beautiful end-of-year page as well!

"Inspirational" is the right word - for this idea, as well as for the entire blog.

I love reading about your relationship with Karen and Kylie, seeing your beautiful scrapbook pages and reading great posts like this.

Thank you :-)

Dear Tekfan33,

Hi there and thanks for your recent comment. You had asked how I create my scrapbook pages and I wanted to send you a reply (couldn't find your email address).

I use the software Adobe Photoshop to do my digital scrapbooking. Although Photoshop Elements works just as well! I do the pages on my computer and then upload them to Flickr to share with you.

I have the pages printed at my nearby Costco store and then put them in page protectors in a scrapbooking album here at home.

If you are just getting started with digital scrapbooking, I heartily recommend taking Jessica Sprague's "Up and Running class" You can find her website at: http://jessicasprague.com/.

I plan to take her next class "Now we're Running" when it is offered this year.

My favorite website for digital papers so far has been Jen Wilson designs. I think her work is beautiful.

I also like Katie Pertiet’s embellishments and stamps. You can find her at:

Here are a few more favorite digital scrapbooking websites.
Designerdigitals.com
Scrapartist.com
Scrapbookgraphics.com
Scrapgirls.com
Sweetshoppedesigns.com

This is probably far more information than what you wanted but I find digital scrapbooking so fun--just want to share the love!

I have to warn you though. Shopping for digital supplies can be incredibly addictive!

Thanks again for your comments. They mean more to me than you know!

Take care,
Wendy
